Sponsors

My first real sponsor is Stronghold Athletic Club!  Carlos and Shelly run a wonderful gym that has the most approachable staff I have ever met at a health club.  If you have ever been interested in rock climbing, there is no better place to go in the midlands, and Carlos can tell some climbing stories that make my palms sweat just thinking about them!  With about ten certified trainers/coaches/instructors on staff they have somebody who has whatever expertise you need, from Mark Hinen’s personal coaching to Dara’s to-die-for Yoga classes on Monday and Thursday nights.  A real stand-up bunch, I am proud to be racing for them and hope that I can earn them some recognition along the way.

Even though I have a sponsor, I am still acutely aware of every minutely incredible thing that other people do for me that helps me succeed.  So this page is also devoted to thanking them for being them!

I definitely want to thank my parents and brother, Casey and Erica Knight, my roommate – Russell, and my friends (particularly Gabe).  My dad loves being at the events and goes with me to scout all the races in the state ahead of time.  If I need something done, I can trust that he will more than meet my expectations, which helps to take a huge load off during races and in life.  My mom is of course supportive, and as I explain some of the intricacies of my races to her I often find solutions to problems.  My brother is great to talk to, and keeps me greatly motivated during training (love to race, not so much the training).  Casey keeps my social life in existance, and Erica has been my most consistent running partner ever (good luck in basic training, and stay safe!)  Russell pays rent (is that a monetary sponsorship?) and is just fun to hang out with.  Gabe has been the most unfaltering believer in my abilities to achieve the highest of my goals, and I definitely want to thank her for that.

My swim coach, Coach Marino, has definitely helped me to get my swim up to a seriously competitive caliber for triathlons!  Also, Brian and all the guys down at Outspokin’ bicycles keep my bike in top form, and I always try to return the favor with a little plug here and there.  (Notice the shirt I am wearing in almost every Florida picture?)
