Alright, just a quick post before bed time (yeah, yeah, elven and it is already past my bed time, I am turning into such a sleepaholic). Shoulder is doing well, I now have full range of motion back and it is mostly pain free and strong. I wanted to get into a masseuse (I have one in mind that is good for the next time I hurt something) but that never materialized, what with the start of the semester and all. But I hope to get back to swimming and riding soon.
My big problem was not the shoulder, but time. With college starting back I have been really busy with my classes, and have not had time to get down to the gym for a swim or to go out for my long rides. That has left me with one event, the run. It has always been my worst, as I am tall and carry a bit more weight that others of my build who are shorter, but I am hoping to make it a weapon this next season. I have already gotten comfortable at an 8 minute mile pace, and can now run the half marathon in 1:48, as opposed to my previous 2:16. I am almost where I want to be, and that is with race pace intervals, not solidly run at race pace. When I can comfortably run race pace I will be doing a 1:40, with a goal of 1:45 for the run at Greenwood in September.
Right now I am not planning on an increase in my bike or swim speed throughout the season, just in my ability to maintain everything else while increasing the run speed. That could all change when I get back into serious bike and swim training. I currently anticipate that not happening until the end of the semester, however, so it is a bit far out to be planning in detail. I laid down a significant base before starting this focused run training, and that base has paid off quite well.
Good Night All
