Lab book, 800s

June 30, 2006

Busy, busy day!  Did my lifting early today, went to class, found my missing lab manual, played around with bacteria for a while, came home, ran some 800 meter sprints.  Seriously, no more running at night for me.  Might have been just getting out of class, but energy was totally sapped.  Now, I realize that I must return to my second home (Wal-mart) for more stuff I should have gotten last time.  Yeah, feel like exploding about now.

Today was…

pretty normal.  Spent an hour and a half swimming with “Coach”, learned a lot, as seems to always happen with the swim.  Happily my times are decreasing, and now swimming 100 meters in 1:40 feels pretty easy.  My eventual goal here is to be able to sustain a 1:20 per 100 meter pace, and since I have a coach now I am devoting a lot of time to my swimming to achieve that goal.  1:20 is a pace that would put me near the top of the heap in half-Iron and Ironman distance.  Next swim practice is Friday, tomorrow I lift weights and run.  Also have to pick up my best friend from work, since he severely injured his foot and can’t drive.

Welcome!

Well, this is the first post on the new blog.  I have a lot of interests that I would like to share with others, and I might as well use the internet as a medium for that!  My current goal is the Ironman Triathlon.  I am in my first season as a triathlete, and have found that the opportunity to inspire others and to give and recieve feedback is one of the greatest motivations I have on a day-to-day basis.  For now, I am going to go get the page looking like I want it, updates coming soon!
